Kaushlendra Singh

Kaushlendra Singh, a recent doctoral graduate in agricultural and biological engineering, works in two key areas of global importance: waste management and renewable energy. He developed innovative techniques for using poultry litter to generate energy while also allowing it to retain its nutrients for value-added products. In creating these methods, Singh made two original contributions: a new model to predict the composition of biomass, and an energy analysis applicable to the thermochemical process. He also worked with colleagues in investigating variable-rate poultry-litter application technologies. His work was recognized for its excellence by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society for Biological and Agricultural Engineering. Singh is currently a postdoctoral fellow at UGA, where he is working to transfer his proposed system to a farm for testing and evaluation.
